Writing Groups

My writers’ group has proved to be a great motivational support to keep writing. Tracey Jackson, Writer

The NSW Writers’ Centre hosts around twenty active writers’ groups for writers of different interests and levels of experience. Writers’ groups are self-run. The Centre provides all groups with free meeting space, tea and coffee-making facilities as well as a listing on our website. All participants of groups meeting at the Centre must be current financial members of NSW Writers’ Centre.

You can browse a list of the groups including a brief description of their aim and information about meeting times. Some groups are open to new members. Before contacting a group, please contact the Centre and ensure that your membership is up-to-date. You should then contact the group convenor to talk about joining the group.

Starting a Writers’ Group

The NSW Writers’ Centre welcomes new additions to our community of writers’ groups. For writers seeking other writers to start a group, the NSW Writers’ Centre can place a call-out in our weekly electronic newsletter, Newsbite. Existing writers’ groups interested in using our meeting space are also welcome.

Our writers’ group service is only available to current financial members of the Centre. Click here to read more about membership. Then contact the NSW Writers’ Centre’s on (02) 9555 9757 or email us to discuss starting a group.
