This six-week course will guide participants through the process of writing for film and television, from initial concept to final draft. With an emphasis on character, story and structure (the ABCs of screenwriting), each week focuses on a key element of storytelling for a visual medium. A series of presentations, discussions, screenings and writing exercises will allow us to explore screenwriting from the inside out. These are the first principles of writing for the screen, concepts that will serve you not only during the course but also throughout your writing career.
