If you’re keen to start or develop a podcast, this course will give you the skills to whip your ideas into shape. Aimed at novice and emerging podcast makers looking to create a new podcast project or develop their existing ideas and audio production skills, this course offers the opportunity to learn and practise recording and editing.

Audio-whisperers Kate Montague and Belinda Lopez will workshop your planned or existing podcast, helping you to understand your audience and the best format for your ideas. From there, you’ll develop a skill-based toolkit to get started, with an in-depth look at recording, interviewing, and editing spread over two days, and time to practice in between sessions.

Participant Requirements
Bring your own fully charged laptop with Audacity (free audio-editing software) downloaded and ready to use.

About the tutors

Belinda Lopez
Belinda Lopez
is an award-winning audio documentary maker and podcaster working with ABC RN and international outlets. She teaches audio production at universities, community radio stations and organisations, and has long delighted in helping aspiring podcasters create compelling stories.

Kate Montague
Kate Montague
 is the director and founder of Audiocraft, an organisation for Australian radiomakers and podcasters. Her work has featured on various ABC RN programs, the CBC’s Love Me, NPR’s Snap Judgement, and FBi Radio’s All The Best, among others. Kate is currently completing a practice-led PhD researching personal storytelling in radio documentaries and podcasts.
