Hours, Location, and Contact
The Centre office is generally open Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, on Saturdays from 9am – 1pm (only when courses are scheduled) and is closed on Sundays. We recommend calling prior to visiting us.
We are located in Garry Owen House, Callan Park, Balmain Rd, Rozelle. Enter the park grounds from the Balmain Road gate opposite Cecily Street and follow the green signs to the NSW Writers’ Centre. See below for our postal address.

There is plenty of free parking at the rear of the Centre for participants, hirers and caterers.
Catch the 445 bus from Petersham Station, the 444 bus from Canterbury or the 440 from Central Station. Get off at the Cecily Street entrance to Callan Park on Balmain Road and follow the green signs to the Centre from the entrance. It’s a 5-minute walk.
Take a bus from Circular Quay, Wynyard or Town Hall towards Rozelle (500, 501, 502, 504, 505, 506, 507, 508, 510, 518, L03, L20, L39, X15, M50, M52) to the corner of Victoria Road and Darling Street. Walk up to Balmain Rd (Rozelle side of Victoria Rd) and turn down it. Walk about 500 metres south along Balmain Rd until you get to the Cecily Street entrance of Callan Park.
Catch the light rail to the last stop at Lilyfield, walk up the steps and turn right in Catherine Street and cross Lilyfield Road. To your right find Grove Street and walk up the hill to Balmain Road, turn right and walk a couple of hundred metres until you reach the lights at Cecily Street at the entrance to Callan Park. Cross Balmain Road into the Park entrance and follow the green signs to the Centre.
